Harold F. Damm, Esq. (BA—Hofstra University, 1974; Juris Doctor with Distinction (Top 10%)—Hofstra University School of Law, 1978) has litigated personal injury, medical malpractice, and family law cases for more than 32 years. He is the managing partner of Ciotti & Damm, LLP. He was admitted to practice law in New York State in 1979. John J. Ciotti, Esq. (BA—Hofstra University, 1974; Juris Doctor—Ohio Northern Law School, February, 1978) practiced matrimonial and family law on Long Island for over 30 years. He was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1980 and was also admitted to practice in Federal Court in the Eastern District of New York and the United States Tax Court. He practiced domestic relations and family law. Mr. Ciotti was a seasoned trial lawyer who has represented clients in numerous courts including the Family Court and Supreme Courts in Nassau and Suffolk as well as the boroughs of New York City and Westchester County.

Among his professional accomplishments, Mr. Ciotti has been employed in the tax department of a Big “8” accounting firm. 

Mr. Ciotti also served an impressive tenure as both chairman and treasurer of the Western Nassau Water Authority. The authority serves approximately 28,000 homes in Western Nassau County, including much of the area he now represents as a legislator.

While at the authority, he fought for cleaner, safer water at more affordable prices. He received much acclaim among area residents for his leadership on behalf of Jamaica Water customers. Mr. Ciotti conducted a study to determine the feasibility and eventual public takeover of Jamaica Water Supply Company, which was accomplished with the establishment of the Western Nassau Water Authority.

John Ciotti was elected in an impressive victory on November 7, 1995, making him the first-ever representative in the Third Legislative District of the newly formed Nassau County Legislature. On November 4, 1997, Mr. Ciotti was re-elected in a landslide victory; subsequently, he was re-elected in 1999, 2001, 2003, 2005, 2007 and 2009.

Mr. Ciotti served as the Deputy Presiding Officer of the Nassau County Legislature, the Chairman of Budget Review, Chairman of Minority Affairs, Vice Chairman of Rules, and Vice Chairman of Finance and is also a member of the Public Works Committee.

John Ciotti was a member of the board of trustees for the Nassau County Supreme Court law library.

He is a proud 1970 graduate of Valley Stream North High School. He also graduated with a degree in accounting from Hofstra University with honors in June 1974 and received his Juris Doctor from Ohio Northern Law School, February, 1978.
